The claims in this description are quotations from literature sources on active substances. The claims are not product-specific, but are intended solely to provide general information about the ingredients.
VSL# Balance is a dietary supplement consisting of 8 different strains of bacteria with the addition of vitamin D3. VSL# Balance contains the OttaBac® formula, which has beenproven in VSL#3 with decades of history and numerous scientific studies1, a manufacturer-enhanced version. When compiling it, the manufacturer’s engineers placed great emphasis on proper safety and efficiency, thorough tests were carried out to determine how the already known and proven formula could be further developed and supplemented without changing its proven effectiveness. In addition, they were able to create it in capsule, easy-to-consume form, without changing the essential elements.
Benefits of VSL# Balance:
- Ultra-high concentration: 90 billion bacteria (CFU) per capsule
- 8 complementary strains of bacteria based on the OttaBac® formula
- Added vitamin D3 to support the immune system
- May contribute to normal intestinal function (for example, in case of IBS)
- May support normal immune function
- May help metabolic processes in cells
- May promote normal absorption of calcium and phosphorus
VSL# Balance is manufactured by the same Actial Pharmaceuticals that produces VSL#3, which is unique and has decades of research. The capsules containing 90 billion colony forming units (CFUs) are 8-10 times more concentrated than those containing preflora available in Hungary. If you choose VSL# Balance, you can be sure that you are getting one of the most concentrated products containing live flora.
What strains of bacteria can be found in VSL# Balance?
Streptococcus thermophilus BT01
Lactobacillus plantarum BP06
Lactobacillus acidophilus BA05
Lactobacillus paracasei BP07
Lactobacillus helveticus BD08
Bifidobacterium animalis subps. lactis BL03
Bifidobacterium animalis subps. lactis BI04
Bifidobacterium breve BB02
Why is a high colony-forming unit (CFU) count important?
After ingestion, gut flora bacteria enter our digestive tract. Here, however, many processes work to process the ingested elements and turn them into absorbable nutrients. No exception to these processes is the multitude of bacteria that are actively exposed to the internal, digestive processes of the body. In the process, many bacteria die from the amount originally taken. In order to get the right amount of live flora into our gut, the best way is to choose a product with a large amount of colony-forming units. Otherwise, when they reach the correct intestinal tract, there will not be enough CFU left to start the colony formation process.
Domestic food supplements with live flora contain an average of 3-10 billion bacteria per serving, in the case of VSL#3 Balance this is 90 billion per capsule.
Is it really “all-free”?
VSL#Balance does not contain lactose, gluten or other unnecessary added substances. In the factory of production, the cultivation of lactobacilli is also carried out without the use of milk. In addition to live flora and vitamin D3, it contains only anti-stick substances, and the shell of the capsules is made of plant materials.
